What Val’s Patients are Saying

Hi I’m Val,

It’s important to recognize the relationship between oral and systemic health. As someone that has always tried to take care of myself, I was surprised to learn the importance of sleep medicine and its relationship to oral-facial development. Sleep medicine has slowly inserted itself into oral health studies, with many dental providers now offering sleep-improvement solutions. Being someone that finds myself tossing and turning, and waking up poorly rested, I wanted to explore the ways that I could not only improve my sleep but also the sleep of my patients. That’s when I found myofunctional therapy.

The more I studied myofunctional therapy, I recognized many symptoms of orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMD) in myself. I then sought out another myofunctional therapist to not only gain knowledge from but also begin my own therapy program, and I’m so happy I did!

My goal as a dental hygienist that specializes in myofunctional therapy is to educate patients on the importance of normal oral growth and development as well as having good oral hygiene. I’m very excited to be able to offer myofunctional therapy at our Westwood office, and help you become the best you!
